now this is what i call rambling

you know, sometimes you get freaked out by the books you read, and that's when you know how good an author can be. with just words as the medium, how does someone manage to put them together to create an ambience so poignant you get sucked in head first?

i just finished my first haruki murakami novel, never touched any of his works before, because im not really a person into contemporary literature. it wasn't a book i understood totally, sputnik sweetheart, but somehow, i was drawn into the atmosphere he created.

i think ive read too much agatha christies, so much so that when someone disappears, you'd expect him to turn up dead somewhere. but sputnik sweetheart intentionally left things hanging, and the use of doppelgangers freaks me out totally. how i hate that word. i first came across it in, surprise surprise, an Agatha Christie novel, At Bertram's Hotel, and imagining myself staring at another me just freaks me outtt.

so now its 3.39am in the morning, and i cnt sleep; i know i wont sleep well after that book. the only thing that would help was if i had a teenage romance to read, but unfortunately, my book collection is too bloody and conspiracy-esque. and i borrowed nothing but mysteries from the library this time.

i suddenly feel like fruit.

last night's thunderstorm was the first in many weeks, yet it gave me the same feeling i got from reading the haruki murakami today. as the lightning and thunder raged on, i looked out of the window, only to feel a shiver that didnt come from the wind, and closing the pane didnt help much. i felt powerless, in a sense.

scared, mostly.

dy's probably sleeping right now, it wouldnt do to wake him up, i guess. okay, end of rambling entry, ill try to find something to occupy my time till dawn. its probably gg to be another book anyway.

oh yah, very late, but i did finish nodame cantabile on the net. loved it, well written, and great development of the characters. tamaki hiroshi was a discovery of mine after spotting him on NHK, I THINK. cnt rmb the name of the show now, though. saw ueno juri in swing girls, and thought she was great. she sort of reminds me of aoi yu as well, same type. and we saw aoi yu everywhere when we were in tokyo. billboards, CMs, dramas.. juri's a pretty name. =)
